HOW to determine the COST to GALVANIZE YOUR EXISTING BODY SPEC.'S
So you are convinced that galvanizing is the proper choice. However, you have a problem? The problem is that you love your existing spec so much that you will forgo galvanizing, waiting until your current manufacture comes out with galvanizing. The wait could be long. Existing manufactures have planned obsolescence built into the product channel. It is to their benefit for all dump bodies to rust. Here are the numbers if you would like to keep your specs and have galvanizing. This is one of the few places where you can have your cake and eat it too!
| 1 | CURRENT manufactures BODY PRICE ( any manufacture) | $ |
| 2 | Plus FINAL PAINTING COAT (600- 1500 dollars) | $ |
| Plus frequent sanding blasting and repainting during the life of the vehicle. If you know what the frequency and cost of repainting for the life of your truck chassis, insert that number in the following slots | ||
| 3 | FIRST SANDBLAST AND REPAINT. It normally runs from 600 to 2500 dollars per REPAINTING PER APPLICATION depending upon length of body. | $ |
| 4 | SECOND SANDBLAST AND RE-PAINT. It normally runs from 600 to 2500 dollars per REPAINTING PER APPLICATION. | $ |
| 5 | REAL COST TO OWN AND OPERATE EXISTING PAINTED DUMP BODY for the life of the chassis | $ |

| 6 | TO
GALVANIZED YOUR PREFERRED BODY SPEC use (line 1 price) above |
$ |
| 7 | LESS
rebate from body manufacture for no sandblasting or
primer coat (ranges from 200 to 400 dollars depending upon manufacture) |
$(______) |
| 8 | LESS requirement to apply finished paint coat by installation company (ranges from 600 to 1200 dollars depending upon local rates) | $(______) |
| 9 | PLUS - GALVANIZING COST
PER FOOT/LENGTH 183 DOLLARS
LENGTH OF TRUCK BODY IN FEET _____FT X $183/FT |
$ |
| 10 | TOTAL COST TO GALVANIZE YOUR PREFERRED MANUFACTURE BODY (line 10 - 5) | $ |
| +/-$ |
Regardless of the dollar
difference (+/-)
For example if the difference is 768 dollars is it worth having a truck that looks like this

rather than this?

|
| Example a $768 dollar difference on a new purchase price of $80,000 dollar for a dump truck vehicle represents less than 1% (.0095%). |
| $768 dollars to protect a community asset and keep your vehicles looking clean and rust free for the life of the chassis is cheap insurance. |
| The owner also enjoy, increased resell value at disposal. |
